What we are trying to do here
We run consciousness research, and research needs records. That pulls in one direction. The people who make those records are entitled to know what is kept about them and to take it back. That pulls in the other. This policy is where we say how we hold both.
We do not sell your data. We do not share it with advertising networks or data brokers. There is no tracking pixel on this site and no advertising identifier in the app.
The Field, our app
Everything in this section is about the app. The website sections further down do not apply to it, because the app talks to different servers and different companies.
What your account holds
Used to sign in and to send you the mail your account needs, such as a password reset. You can hold an account without one, in which case your recovery codes are the only way back in.
Chosen by you, or generated for you if you do not choose one. Nothing requires it to be your real name.
Asked once at signup and never editable afterwards, because a date you could change is a door you could reopen. It decides which parts of the app you can reach, and nothing else reads it. Correcting a wrong one means deleting the account and starting again.
Stored as a hash. We cannot read it and we cannot tell you what it was.
Stored as hashes, shown to you once when they are made, and each one works a single time.
One of a fixed set of images the app already carries. There is no photo upload, which is deliberate.
What a practice session records
Each session writes what the instrument did. The cards or symbols involved, what you answered, when each answer came, and the result. Sessions are kept under your account so the records screen can show them back to you, and they go when the account goes.
TechMind sends your words to an AI model
TechMind is the one instrument in the app that hands what you write to a model running at another company. That company is Anthropic. The app asks you before the first TechMind session, on the screen itself, and asks again whenever the wording changes. What the screen says is what happens:
What you write is sent to an AI model so it can read alongside you. Your name and account never travel with it, only your words. Transcripts expire after 24 hours, and a sweep on our server deletes them.
The copy of the session kept on your phone, which you can read on the records screen, is separate from that. It is yours, and deleting your account drops it.
Dictation never leaves your phone
You can speak a note instead of typing it. The app requires on-device recognition and checks that your phone can do it before opening the microphone. Where a phone cannot, the feature is switched off rather than falling back to a server. No audio is recorded, kept, or sent anywhere.
Space weather comes from NOAA
The app reads the planetary K index and related figures from the NOAA Space Weather Prediction Center, a United States government service, so it can show the conditions a session ran under. Your phone makes that request directly, so NOAA sees an IP address. Nothing about you or your account is sent with it.
Crash reports
The app uses Sentry to report crashes and errors so we can fix them. Sending personal information with a report is switched off. What Sentry receives is the fault itself, the device model, and the app version.
Notifications are set by your phone
When you ask the app to remind you about a session window, your phone schedules that reminder itself. There is no server pushing notifications to you, and no device token is sent anywhere.
Research, and what survives deletion
Contributing your sessions to the research is optional, is asked for separately, and is open only to adults. If you consent, your sessions are filed under a research pseudonym rather than under your account, and it is the pseudonym that appears in the record.
Sessions already counted into the research aggregate stay counted after you delete your account. The aggregate keeps numbers, never names. This is deliberate: a record people could prune by deleting their misses would not be evidence of anything.
Consent applies from the moment you give it. It does not reach back for sessions already run, and withdrawing it does not reach back for sessions already sealed.
Where the app’s data is held
On servers we run on Amazon Web Services in Ohio, in the United States. The account service and the research service are both ours. Anthropic, NOAA and Sentry are the only outside companies the app reaches, and each is named above with what it gets.
Deleting your account
In the app, open Your Field, then Account, then Delete my account. You will be asked to confirm, and for your passphrase if your account has one.
Deleting removes the account itself, your passphrase, your recovery codes, your profile, and every practice record kept under it. Records held on our servers are removed within the hour by a job that runs whether or not anything else succeeded. Records on your phone go immediately. What remains is described in the research note above.
You do not need the app installed to make the request. Use our account deletion page, which asks for the same confirmation and does the same thing.
The website
Everything below is about thetelepathycenter.com. It describes different companies from the app section, because the website and the app are built on different stacks.
Reading the site
You can read every public page without an account and without telling us anything. Our host keeps standard request logs, meaning an IP address, a user agent and a timestamp, for a limited period, for security and to keep the site running. We do not use those for advertising or profiling.
The web training tools
The browser tools keep an anonymous session identifier on your own device, along with your session history, the local sidereal time each session started at, and basic figures such as screen size and timezone. Where a tool syncs to an account, that account and its sessions are held in Supabase.
Membership and payment
Payment is handled entirely by Stripe. We never see, store or transmit your card number. What reaches us from Stripe is your name, your email address, and confirmation that you paid.
Waitlists and email updates
Your email address, and your name if you give it, are held by Kit.com, operated by Sender Co., and used to send you the updates you asked for. Every email carries an unsubscribe link.
The contact form
Submissions go through Netlify Forms and are checked by Cloudflare Turnstile, which is there to stop automated abuse and may set a short-lived cookie on form pages while it does. We use what you send only to answer you.
What we never collect
- Your precise location. The app and the site read a timezone, and nothing finer.
- Your contacts, your photo library, or your health data.
- Any advertising identifier, on either platform.
- Your browsing anywhere outside our own site and app.
- Anything from an advertising or tracking network, because we use none.
Your rights
Wherever you are, you can ask us to:
- Show you the personal data we hold about you.
- Correct anything that is wrong or incomplete.
- Send you a copy in a portable format.
- Delete it. In the app this is the button described above and needs no request. For anything else, write to us.
- Stop the marketing email, through the unsubscribe link or by asking.
- Object to or restrict what we do with it.
- Complain to your data protection authority, if your country has one.

Children
The Field is for people aged 13 and over, and parts of it are for adults only. The date of birth you give at signup is what decides that, and it is checked on our server rather than taken on trust from the app. If you believe a child under 13 holds an account, write to us and we will remove it.
Cookies
The website uses local storage and cookies for the site to work, and for nothing else. No third-party tracking cookies, no advertising networks, no analytics that profile individuals, no social media pixels. Cloudflare Turnstile sets a short-lived cookie on pages with a form. The app uses no cookies at all.
Where your data goes
Our own servers are in the United States. The companies named in this policy operate internationally and may process data outside your country, each under its own safeguards. If you use our site or our app from outside the United States, your data will be handled there.
Changes to this policy
When this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it. Where a change matters we will say so on the site rather than leave you to find it. In the app, a change to what TechMind sends is a new version of the consent screen, and you are asked again.
