The quickest way is in the app
Open Your Field, then Account, then Delete my account. You will be asked to confirm, and for your passphrase if your account has one. Deletion happens immediately and nothing here needs to happen as well.
What deletion removes
The account itself, your email address, your username, your date of birth, your profile picture, your passphrase and your recovery codes. Every practice record kept on your phone goes with them.
Your practice sessions and their trials on our servers. A job sweeps for deleted accounts and takes them, and it repeats until nothing is left, so a request cannot be quietly lost.
Sessions you consented to contribute to the research and that were already sealed. They stay in the aggregate under a research pseudonym that was never linked to your name or your email address.
We keep the consented research sessions on purpose. A record people could prune by deleting their misses after the fact would not be evidence of anything. The aggregate holds numbers, never names.
Ask us to delete it
Use this if you no longer have the app. We will email the address you give us to confirm the request is really yours before deleting anything, so use the address the account was made with.
If your account has no email address, and you signed up with recovery codes alone, this form cannot help you. We would have no way to tell that the account is yours. The button inside the app is the only route, and it is the right one.
You can also write to hello@thetelepathycenter.com from the address on the account.
Website accounts
Accounts on thetelepathycenter.com are separate from app accounts and are not open for public registration. If you hold one, ask us here and say so, and we will delete it the same way.
Our privacy policy sets out everything we hold and why.
